Successful Garage Sale
Yesterday was our huge garage sale at the church hall and it was very successful netting $2500.00 for NEF which will go towards our administration costs in Nepal. Many, many thanks to the over 20 volunteers who helped set up, run and take down the sale and clean the hall. Thanks also to the many people who donated items. Special thanks SB windows who loaned us their cube van and Curtis who help load and drove the van. Finally after many months my carport is empty!! I will add photos here later as right now it is not letting me upload for some reason.

Generous Donation for Sewing Program
We have just received a donation of $1800 from the Duncan Noontime Rotary Club for our new sewing program in Simpani, Pokhara. We also received a $200 private donation at the same time making it $2000. We are extremely grateful to Duncan Rotary for this. It will cover our start up costs of machines, furniture, fabric and notions etc and cover salaries for our two ladies and teacher for sometime to come. The program is doing very well and all our school uniforms were made on time and we have many ladies wanting to learn to sew. Mann is on his way to Pokhara tomorrow and will be buying a serger machine which they need especially for making pants. This has been exciting for the women involved and has given them new self esteem.
I will have some new photos when he returns at the end of the week which I will post here.
We are very happy with the support of the Rotary Clubs here in Duncan, they have been amazing and helped NEF with new projects which have changed the lives of many Nepali women and children. The Chimkhola school project would not have been possible without their help and now the sewing project will be greatly enhanced by their help. We thank you so much.

GARAGE SALE
It is that time again and the sale is at the Duncan United Church on Saturday May 29th from 8 am to 2 pm. Same place as last year. We still need volunteers for this sale. Last year we had many and it really helped make it easier for everyone. Please phone me 250-746-8936 or email nepeducation@yahoo.ca if you can help on either Friday 28th evening or Saturday 29th or both. Even a few hours is appreciated.
If you have items to donate please call me.
The proceeds from this sale go to pay our operating costs in Nepal. We try to keep them to a minimum but things like salaries, office rent, auditor etc have to be paid for. This means that we do not have to take the administration money out of donor or sponsor fees.
